Butlerstown Cemetery Mass.

I know that like me there are a number of you who have relatives buried in Butlerstown graveyard. The annual cemetery mass for all buried there will take place on Thursday July 30th at 7.30pm. Please spread the word to anyone you know who might like to attend.

Wedded Bliss.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to local couple Mary T O Brien and Kenny Guiry who were married recently on the beautiful island of Lanzarote. Family and friends travelled with them to witness this very important event in their life. I have heard back reports of a stunning bride and a very handsome groom and an absolutely beautiful ceremony. While Mary made a beautiful bride two other young ladies caught the eyes of many too. The couples daughters Joanne and Evie assisted as bridesmaid and flowergirl and I am sure they did their mam and dad proud. We wish this lovely family many happy and healthy years together in their home in Stonehouse.

Memorial Cycle.

I am well aware that we have many keen cyclists in our parish so I thought I would let you know about the Fr. Colm O Brien Memorial Cycle which takes place this year on Saturday August 8th. Option One is a 60km cycle which goes from St. Peter and Pauls Church in Clonmel at 11am and goes directly to Tramore. Option Two is a 10km cycle which leaves from Kingfisher at 1.30pm and goes straight to Tramore. Please arrive 30mins early to register or you can register on www.frcolmobrienmemorialcycle.com All proceeds raised will go to Pieta House.

Tractor Run.

The Kilmeaden Vintage Tractor Club held their annual tractor run on Sunday July 19th and it was a huge success. The convoy of almost 90 tractors left Haughtons at 1pm and took in a beautiful scenic route stopping off in Kill village where all the drivers were treated to refreshments in the community centre and then set off again to make their way back to Haughtons where a wonderful barbeque was waiting for them. This was a brilliant event with lots of interesting machines on show. Well done to Pat Fitzgerald and his committee who put a lot of work in to this event. A big well done also to those who provided the refreshments in Kill and Haughtons. Thanks also to the stewards on the day who kept everything going smoothly. All proceeds of this event will go to The Solas Centre and I will let you know the amount in the coming weeks when the presentation night takes place.
