Talent Show.

Time is ticking and everywhere you go you will spot people getting ready for the Talent Show in aid of Ballyduff Church Renovation Fund. As I walked on the Greenway the other day, a guy kept telling me jokes and as I rested in our beautiful community garden, a lady serenaded me while a group of dancers did backflips over the bench I was sitting on. Another guy pulled a rabbit out of a hat but wasn’t too impressed when the rabbit escaped to enjoy the garden. I had to explain to them all that I had no influence over the judging system and was merely helping to get the word out.
Our community and surrounding areas are awash with talent, so now is the time to shine and the big news is that the winner will win €1,000 for themselves. Open to all kinds of acts from all areas this a wonderful chance to show off your talent and have a chance of winning this fantastic amount of money.
The beautiful Waterford Rose Cara Comerford will officially launch the event at the first heat in O Donnachas on Friday June 5th at 9pm. The second heat will take place on Friday June 12th in Haughtons Pub, while the final heat will be at The Sweep on Friday June 26th. The grand final will take place on Friday July 3rd. Entries can be given to John O Leary on 087-2154519. Music will be by Pat Comerford each night.

On Friday June 5th at 6pm the club will bring walking football to their Astroturf pitch. Open to men and women of all ages and abilities who are looking to be active, meet new people and have a bit of fun. Free to all, the only requirements are a pair of runners and a smile.
The Ballyduff branch of the Manchester United Supporters club enjoyed a fantastic trip to Old Trafford recently. It was a weekend where great memories were made, and the trip was a huge success. Rumour has it that Paddy Kirk had a few enquiries about transferring to Ballyduff AFC but none were up to the club’s standard.

On Saturday June 6th Ballyduff Lower GAA Club will continue their annual Memorial Tournament remembering two stalwarts of the club Tom Cheasty and Derek Ryan. The club’s U12’s will take on Kilmacow while the Junior Leage Div 5 will play Stradbally. This is always a wonderful day with everyone joining together to remember two great clubmen who were taken way before their time and whose dedication to the club will never be forgotten. There will be fun for all on the day and plenty of refreshments for everyone. Keep an eye out on the club’s social media sites for starting times.
The latest lotto draw took place on Sunday May 24th, and the numbers drawn were 1, 2, 15 and 16. The next draw will take place on Sunday June 7th and there will be a jackpot of €12,500 up for grabs. The U15 Camogie girls have qualified for the All-Ireland Feile in Rathdowney on June 20th. This is an absolute fantastic achievement by these girls and to help fund this trip, team members and supporters took part in a sponsored cycle from The Suir Valley Railway Station to Kilmacthomas. If you would like to support the girls as they prepare for the Feile please contact any member of the club.

Quote for the Week.

Believe in yourself and all that you are.
Know that there is something inside you
That is greater than any obstacle.
