Talent Show.

Unfortunately, the Talent Show in aid of the Church Renovation Fund has had to be postponed until later in the year. A big thank you to the committee who had put such hard work into the event. The good news is that it gives people a little longer to get ready and to perfect their talents. There is now time to learn those extra steps, strum those hard chords and reach those high notes.

Birthday Boy

We send warmest birthday wishes to the one and only Shay Searson, Gortaclode who recently celebrated his 60th birthday. We hope Shay enjoyed his day with his wife Edel, son Scott, daughter Amber and all the extended family. Shay is most definitely one of the most young at heart and lively 60 year old you will meet

Church News

Our church renovation committee are working hard to raise funds to complete works on our beautiful church. Our church is a place which holds a connection with our loved ones gone before us and will be a beacon of light for our children and our grandchildren. It would be fantastic if it could be now painted inside and out and give it that fresh, clean look that it deserves. Donations however big or small are always greatly appreciated and the committee would also love to hear of any fundraising ideas you may have. Remember that donations can be given to any committee member paid by Bank Transfer or you can simply pop it in an envelope marked Church Renovation Fund and place it in the offertory basket at Sunday mass or hand it into the Sacristy.
We still await the announcement of our new priest but until then Sunday morning mass continues at 10am.
Volunteers are required to help with the cleaning of the church so if you can spare an hour or two please give your name and contact details to Ann in the sacristy or to Joan Cheasty.
Choir practice takes place every Wednesday evening at 8pm in the church and new members are always welcome.
A huge thank you to local artist Lupita De Bháil who has donated a beautiful painting for auction, with all funds going directly to the Church Renovation Fund. If you would like to place a bid for this beautiful painting, please text your bid to 0872154519.

Recent Deaths

We extend our deepest sympathy to Alan Dempsey, Amberhill on the recent sad death of his dad. Martin was a resident of Summerville, Tramore but was a regular visitor to Kilmeaden. He will be sadly missed by his wife Breda, sons Alan and Mick, daughters Sonya, Claire and Karen and all the extended family. We pray that Martin now rests in peace.
We send our condolences to Ann Power who many will know as the friendly face behind Lenihan’s Bar in Newtown on the recent death of her mother. Margaret (Peggy) Roche was a gentle sweet woman who adored all her family. We know she will be sadly missed by all her family but I’m sure all the wonderful memories they have of her will in time bring them great comfort. We pray that she now enjoys the beauty of God’s heaven.
We also offer our sympathies to the Power family in Dunhill on the recent unexpected death of Bridget (Biddy) Power nee Halley. Biddy was a very well-known and popular lady whose beautiful smile would light up your day. Her kind and generous nature was loved by all, and she passed these traits to her children Joe, Catherine and Liam. She took great pride in her grandchildren and her great grandson Joseph. A lady of great faith we now pray that she is enjoying the rich rewards of Christ’s love which she so richly deserved.
