Diamond Day
On February 12th, 1966, one of the greatest Kilmeaden and Portlaw unions took place. Noel O Sullivan and Nancy Power were joined in matrimony in St. Nicholas Church followed by a reception in The Majestic Hotel, Tramore. They made their home at Matthews Cross where they still live happily. We wish Noel and Nancy a very happy 60th wedding anniversary and hope they enjoy many more happy years together.

Ballyduff Youth Drama group is run by three local ladies Helen Millea, Eleanor Foley and Joan Cheasty. These ladies volunteer their time each year to put on a fantastic show for our entertainment. The young people of 5th and 6th classes look forward for their chance to take part in this show. It is wonderful to see these young people grow in confidence and creating new friendships
Night for Dod
Dermot (Dod) Whelan is probably one of the most well-known names in our area. Our community is most certainly a poorer place following his death. Dod was always helping others in any way he could and now his daughters Shanice and Chloe would like to keep that tradition going. They will host a night of live music, food, a raffle and an auction to raise much needed funds for the Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust. The night will take place on Saturday February 21st at 6.30pm in O Donnachas Bar, Kilmeaden. All donations will go straight to the fund and if you are unable to attend there is a QR code to scan with your donation.
Recent Death
Our community was united in grief following the death of Mary Daly, The Sweep, Kilmeaden. Mary was very popular with young and old and loved to be in the company of others. She was a lady of great style and had a very keen eye for fashion. She really enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She was very proud of her sons Eamonn, Donal and Kevin, daughter Grace, grandchildren Cathal, Gavin and Ruth and loved to talk about them. She will be sorely missed by all her family and her many friends, and we extend our deepest condolences to them all. Mary’s funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Francis Xavier, Fr. Michael Enright and Fr. Michael O Byrne and following mass Mary was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. We draw some comfort in the fact that she is now reunited with her beloved husband Pakie and son Pádraig, and we pray that they all now enjoy the peace and light of Christ

I have learned that people will forget what you said
People will forget what you did.
But people will never forget how you made them feel.
