Birthday Girl

Another young lady from our parish turned the tender age of 50 in recent days. Claudia Lane would actually pass for a teenager but I have it on good authority that she is indeed 50. I have no doubt that Claudia celebrated with her family and may even have got a chef in to cook for the evening. We hope Claudia enjoyed her celebrations and we wish her many more happy birthdays to come.

Church News
Unfortunately we find ourselves back to the situation where masses have had to cancel all masses. Hopefully we will all be back together again in a couple of weeks. Anyone who had booked anniversary masses for the next couple of weeks please don’t worry as we will book another mass for you when things return to our new normal. Fr. Mick and Fr. Richard would like to assure you all of their continued prayers for all parishioners and ask that we remember them both in our prayers. If you are a Facebook user please look up the parish of Portlaw/Ballyduff page where there will be masses, rosaries, inspirational readings and quotes and an odd joke or two thrown in for good measure.

Even though matches etc are cancelled, the life and work of a soccer club must still go on and so I have been asked to remind you all that the clubs’ fundraising clothes collection is still running and so you are welcome to drop off your unwanted items of clothing. They can be dropped to the dressing rooms between 5pm and 8pm Monday to Thursday or on Saturdays from 10 am to 4pm. This will run until October 18th so get sorting those unwanted items.
The club are also still seeking a CE worker to assist in the maintenance of club grounds. If you are interested or know someone who may be please contact one of the following John Supple CE Supervisor on 086 2330810 or Paddy Kirk on 087 2764883

Covid 19

I know it is tough going with all these restrictions ad cancellations etc but please remain safe and protect yourself and those around you. Stay in touch with friends and neighbours through phone and text and most of all keep smiling.
