Birthday Boy, Great Achievement and Recent Deaths

Birthday Boy

We send many congratulations and best wishes to Alex Foley, Ballyduff who recently celebrated his 21st birthday. Although celebrations cannot be as we would probably like them I have no doubt that Alex celebrated with his parents Sherlock and Eleanor, sister Kate and brother Conor. We wish Alex many more happy birthdays.

Great Achievement

Congratulations to Keith Millea, Newtown who recently received the news that he has been chosen to be part of the Waterford County Football panel. This is a great achievement for Keith and a just reward for his hard work and dedication. We wish Keith the very best and look forward to following his progress.

Recent Deaths
We extend our deepest sympathy to Eugene and Siobhan Power and all the Power family on the recent death of Eugene’s sister Aileen . She was a resident of Lacopple House in Fethard and her funeral mass took place in The Sacred Heart church in Killusty with burial in the adjoining cemetery. We pray that she rests in peace.
We also send our sympathies to Peggy O Shea, Ballyduff Hill and Nancy O Sullivan, Matthews Cross on the recent death of their cousin. Patrick (Patsy) Power lived in Piltown and is survived by his loving wife Peggy, his son Fergal, grandsons Zach and Max and his grandaughter Sarah and great grandaughter Ellie and his sister Mabel. Patsy’s funeral mass took place in Piltown church followed by burial in Ballyduff. We pray now that Patsys gentle soul rests in peace.

Fundraising Success
Waterford Fly Fishers are not just all about fishing, they also do a lot of brilliant work for charity. Following recent fundraising events the group were finally able to hand over a fantastic amount of €2,575. Willie Hanrahan chairman of WCCTAA presented the cheque to representatives of the Waterford/Kilkenny branch of Down Syndrome Ireland. This money will be extremely beneficial to the group and is very much appreciated.

Birthday Girl

Although I run the risk of never being spoken to again I would like to send happy birthday wishes to my own daughter Ava who turned 18 recently. I know she would have liked to celebrate in style but I’m sure she will make up for it. We still enjoyed a lovely weekend and the birthday girl was happy.
